The instructors are noted experts in this field:
Kurt Strack is a long-time leader in EM, the founder of KMS Technologies, and the author of the 1992 EM classic, Exploration with Deep Transient Electromagnetics. For his leadership in non-seismic geophysics, he was given the Fessenden Award by the SEG in 2004.
Leon Thomsen is a well-known expert in advanced seismic methods. Starting in 2004, he has worked with EM to develop the second generation of CSEM technology, which exploits the features common to EM and advanced seismics. For his contributions to advanced seismic methods, he was given the Fessenden Award by the SEG in 1990.
