MR-ML™ mud logging NMR
KMS Technologies offers a novel product formud logging to get porosity and permeability at low cost. The Magnetic Resonance for Mud Logging (MR-ML™) instrument determines petrophysical parameters of rock samples and drill cutting as small as 2 mm. It consists of a portable Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectrometer and automated petrophysical interpretation software for well site applications as well as for laboratory measurements.
Recent highlights include the application to geothermal well for porosity logging.
The software allows to accurately estimate the petrophysical parameters (porosity, permeability, fluid saturation, etc.) of core plugs and cuttings. Each measurement takes 3 - 5 minutes depending on the type of experiment performed. The results of the calculation are output in the table which can be exported into ASCII file. The graph of the T2 spectrum distribution for each measurement is also available.
Presently, the technology is ready for deployment and use on clastic rocks. Carbonates and rock with secondary porosity will require reservoir dependent studies. In cooperation with our alliance partner NMR Plus of Canada and Ecotech of Houston, we can support the entire technology with training, online support and customs petrophysical projects.
